Penny Lion Named
Business Events Australia welcomes new general manager
Tourism Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Penny Lion to the position of general manager, Business Events Australia.
Penny comes to the role with extensive knowledge and experience in the business events industry, having held a variety of senior management positions, most recently as general manager, UK/Europe for CiEvents. She has helped establish CiEvents as a significant contender in the UK events industry and her experience includes the development of unique event and marketing strategies and strategic stakeholder management.
Penny will be responsible for leading the development of Tourism Australia’s (TA) global business events strategy and the delivery of business-to-business programs that promote Australia as a destination for business events.
Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy said Penny’s appointment would see TA take its engagement with the industry to the next level, building a greater emphasis on sales and making competitive gains for Australia.
