(eTN) – An unusual game called “Get Rid of Me” has been launched in London. Touted as the world’s first un-popularity contest, it offers the chance to win in a six-month “global adventure” for two worth over GBP50,000 or US$100,000).

Contest organizers asked: “Do you spend your days dreaming of the ultimate adventure – visiting the pyramids, Great Wall of China, seeing the Big Five and so much more? Is budget, time or planning holding you back? Then enter GET RID OF ME, an extreme online competition that gives explorers a chance to win the trip of a lifetime, taking in 18 countries in six fabulous months. To be in with a chance to win entrants must visit http://www.getridofme.com and explain why they should be got rid of!”

Open to residents from the United Kingdom only, the closing date for the contest is September 30, 2010. The prize includes a trip across four continents for two people. Flights, accommodation and visas, a video camera to record the trip, spending money, entrance fees, food and vaccinations. “What more could you want?” organizers asked.

How the contest works:
The first step to redemption is confession. Entrants must use wit and charm to confess their sins on the GET RID OF ME website, http://www.getridofme.com. Contestants can go crazy with written confessions, video uploads or even a song.

Then, “friends, family and the public have their way.” Entrants need to muster up as many votes as they can and the public vote for whomever they think should be sent packing. The more votes, the better the chances of getting “banished.”

The lucky winner is picked from ALL votes cast and will be sent on a six month life changing global adventure; they can also bring a friend! The winning duo will get to see Morocco, Taj Mahal, Pyramids, Gorillas, Great Wall of China, Red Sea, Shanghai, Zanzibar, Moscow, Cape Town, Gobi Desert, Cairo and much more…on a holiday that is valued well over US$100,000!
