(eTN) - As the 2010 FIFA World Cup(TM), taking place in nine cities across South Africa, comes to its exhilarating climax this Sunday, July 11, 2010, South African Tourism is inviting fans to give a “Shout Out” to South Africa, as the final matches unfold, in recognition of this young nation's phenomenal achievement in staging this World Cup.

“Fans the world over have been gripped by soccer fever, mesmerized by vuvuzelas, captivated by the exotic scenery and spectacular stadiums, and charmed by the warm welcome from the South African people,” South African Tourism said.

The tourism authorities have created a Facebook Application where fans can upload their good wishes and congratulatory messages to South Africa; Shout Outs can be text, text and an image, or a webcam capture.

Log on to www.southafrica.net/shoutout through July 12, 2010, and join thousands of fans, including a host of celebrities -- Chris Rock, Jay-Z, Alfre Woodard and Blair Underwood, just to name a few -- who have already given their Shout Outs to this remarkable destination. Fans can create their own 'Shout Out', broadcast it to Facebook, and then invite their friends to do the same, South African Tourism authorities said.

Everyone who posts a “shout out” may be entered to win a one week trip for two to South Africa, courtesy of South African Tourism, their own special thank you to fans for their support. The campaign closes on Thursday, July 15, and winners will be notified by the end of the month.
