Airline drops its Bournemouth to Jersey route

Airline BMI Baby has announced it will suspend its Bournemouth to Jersey flights, less than three months after the route began operating.

Airline BMI Baby has announced it will suspend its Bournemouth to Jersey flights, less than three months after the route began operating.

An airline spokeswoman said the last flight on the route will be on 28 June.

She said sales for the route were “disappointing” while flight sales from Jersey to Manchester, East Midlands and Cardiff remained strong.

Bournemouth Airport opened a new ยฃ45m terminal earlier this month, despite falling passenger numbers.

The terminal was built to cope with three million passengers within the next three years but the airport said it has accepted it would not meet this figure.

BMI Baby said any affected passengers on the Bournemouth-Jersey route would be contacted by the airline and receive a full refund.
