World renowned violist Yuri Bashmet arrives in Seychelles

World-renowned Russian violist and conductor, Yuri Bashmet, arrived in Seychelles this morning for his grand concert to be held on Thursday, June 17 at the International Conference Centre in Victoria.

He was met upon arrival by the Minister for Local Government, Youth, Sports and Culture, Vincent Meriton; Russian Ambassador Mikhail Kalinin; and the Director for Tourism Marketing, Alain St. Ange.

Mr. Bashmet traveled to Seychelles with The Moscow Soloists Orchestra and will give only one performance in Seychelles, scheduled to start at 6:30 pm.

His visit was initiated and coordinated by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board, Russian Embassy, and other partners, as part of developing the cultural tourism niche market for Seychelles.
