World Travel Market, the premier global event for the travel industry, is launching a year-round executive Think Tank program for senior buyers in its Meridian Club.

The program is designed to give Meridian Club buyers the opportunity for year-round networking and thought-provoking discussion among their peers.

The first meeting will discuss the fast-evolving sector of sport tourism and takes place on June 3 at TV’s Masterchef judge John Torode’s The Luxe restaurant in east London.

It will be followed by a meeting on the hotels industry at Arsenal’s Emirates stadium on September 2, with further events to take place after WTM 2010 in November.

Meridian Club marketing manager Mark Jakobsen said: “Meridian Club buyers need to be kept abreast of the latest product and trends to help inform their purchasing decisions.

“The Think Tank program allows Meridian Club members to network and debate throughout the year about the key issues in the industry.

“The Think Tank program has been met with a lot of enthusiasm from Meridian Club members so is poised to become a real added benefit to the travel and tourism industry’s calendar.”
