US Airways Starts Charlotte-Rome Service
All roads lead to Rome - US Airways launches daily nonstop Charlotte, N.C. - Rome service
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - US Airways customers have a new choice when Rome's architecture, history and cuisine come calling as the airline begins daily, year-round nonstop service to Rome from Charlotte, N.C. today.
The new flight will complement US Airways' daily nonstop service to Rome from Philadelphia, the airline's international gateway. It will be operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft with seating for 30 in Envoy, US Airways' trans-Atlantic business class, and 263 in the main cabin.
US Airways Senior Vice President, Airport Customer Service, International and Cargo Operations Suzanne Boda said, "All roads lead to Rome and US Airways is excited to offer a direct path from Charlotte to the 'Capital of the World.' Our new service will offer our customers another convenient option for traveling to one of our most popular European destinations."
Rome is one of 558 daily flights at US Airways' largest hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. US Airways currently offers nonstop service from Charlotte to London's Gatwick Airport, Frankfurt International Airport, Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport and Rio de Janeiro-Galeao International Airport in Brazil. Earlier this year the airline announced it would add Ottawa, Canada, and Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, Mexico to its list of destinations available from Charlotte.
