Qatar Airways congratulates Germany on winning FIFA Confederations Cup 2017

Qatar Airways, the Official Partner and Official Airline of FIFA, congratulates Germany on winning the final match of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 which took place Sunday night in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Qatar Airways was announced as the Official Partner and Official Airline of FIFA in May, as part of a ground-breaking sponsorship lasting until 2022. Upcoming FIFA events sponsored by Qatar Airways will include both the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said “Qatar Airways is delighted to congratulate Germany on winning the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017. As the Official Partner and Airline of FIFA, we understand the power of sport in bringing people together – something at the heart of our own philosophy and core values.

“We are proud to support major sporting clubs and world-class events around the globe, including the Formula E electric car races in Paris and New York and the Sydney Swans. And of course, we are tremendously excited about the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in our home country, the State of Qatar.”

As an Official Partner of FIFA, Qatar Airways will have extensive marketing and branding rights at the next two FIFA World Cups, with an expected audience reach of more than two billion people per tournament. It will also have visibility at competitions such as the FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFA U-17 and U-20 World Cups, the FIFA Futsal World Cup, FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and the FIFA Interactive World Cup, the world’s largest online gaming tournament.

Qatar Airways is one of the fastest-growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world, with 200 aircraft flying to more than 150 key business and leisure destinations across six continents. New destinations being launched in 2017 include Nice, France on 4 July; Skopje, the Republic of Macedonia on 17 July; and Sohar, Oman on 8 August.
