The Gulf Aviation Training Event (GATE) will return for its fourth instalment during the Dubai Airshow 2017 in November this year at DWC, Dubai Airshow Site. The one day programme, taking place on Monday, 13 November, will focus this year on maintenance and crew training, in addition to pilot training.

The conference programme will include high-level presentations and discussions on topics such as how the Middle East is keeping ahead of the curve with airline training developments; what is else is needed to move with the speed of technology in training and evidence based training principles.

In addition, there will be presentations from the event ย headline sponsor CAE entitled โ€˜How to Train A Better Pilotโ€™ and sponsor The University of South Wales on โ€˜Aviation Schools, Instructors and Certification Standardsโ€™; plus some of the airlines already committed to speak include Air Arabia and Etihad Airways.

Boeingโ€™s Current Market Outlook (CMO) 2014 โ€“ 2033 predicts the Middle East will need 62,000 new skilled maintenance personnel and 55,000 new pilots to staff the regionโ€™s airlines between now and 2033.

โ€œGATE has seen an increase in interest from both conference delegates and exhibitors since its inception,โ€ says Michele van Akelijen, Managing Director of organisers F&E Aerospace. โ€œLooking at the predicted demand for future staff, it is imperative that the industry begins to address this now, and GATE provides the ideal platform for them to do so within the centre of the aerospace industry.โ€

As in previous years, GATE will also include a dedicated pavilion within the Dubai Airshow providing exclusive exhibition space to showcase companies providing flight training products and services for the five days of the show.

GATE is held under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman and CEO of Emirates.ย
