Amari wins Google Campaign of the Year Award

Amari, part of the Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group, was presented with the Google Southeast Asia Campaign of the Year award for its 2009 advertising campaign.

“Amari has been an extremely strong proponent of combining the power of search and the Google display network for its online branding campaigns, which is the main reason they won the Campaign of the Year Award,” said Sajith Sivanandan, head of travel, retail and automotive, Google Southeast Asia. "Through its innovative use of online marketing, including its attention to tracking and measuring its campaign results, it was able to drive room sales and ROI aggressively in an unpredictable travel market. We congratulate Amari for this win, and hope to see them launching even stronger online ad campaigns that combine search and display in the future.”

This year’s judging criteria included: creative use of Google products and technologies, interactivity and functionality, creative concept and overall user experience, and was judged by a panel of advertising experts from the region.

Amari’s advertising campaign is spearheaded by ONYX’s vice president of e-commerce, Chetan Patel. "We are greatly appreciative of this recognition as it acknowledges our continued focus on creative and maintaining a vibrant online presence," Mr. Patel remarked. "We look forward to building on our successful campaigns to date as we strive to towards being an industry leader in online marketing initiatives."
