SCTA was ranked the second best work environment in the governmental sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the competition which was organized by Al Eqtesadia newspaper, in partnership with Team One Consultancy Company. The Capital Market Authority won first place, while third place went to the Commission for Industrial Cities and Technology.

Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh, vice president for support in SCTA, stated that, “SCTA focused on creating an exemplary modern government work environment through adopting and applying a set of professional values, such as justice, responsibility, transparency, partnership and knowledge, and a system of ethics that governs SCTA's dealings internally and externally."

The award also took into consideration SCTA's efforts to provide an excellent work-environment that stimulates productivity and enhances the performance and practical capacity of a highly-qualified and trained cadre.

Dr. Al Sheikh, indicated that SCTA is a distinguished governmental body, that follows the best contemporary applications, stating: "SCTA, under the leadership of HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman, has given great consideration towards promoting leadership, besides laying out the rules and regulations that effectively facilitate and organize the work. SCTA has largely focused on the full automation of the work’s administrative procedures through relying on electronic systems for work progress, in addition to its leading efforts in Oracle applications in human resources, besides adopting many other electronic applications that resulted in the present work environment in SCTA."

Regarding SCTA’s adopted vision and plan for achieving excellence in its work environment, Dr. Al Sheikh said, since the foundation of SCTA, HRH president of SCTA, laid out 22 institutional aspects forming a road map for the goals that are to be achieved by each SCTA employee. The most significant of these goals is that SCTA will become an institution of a positive power for economic development, in addition to being reliable, transparent, and able to accept criticism and new ideas and have a flexible administrative system, leading the best and respectable people in their specialization areas.

SCTA was established in the year 2000, with an objective to stimulate general interest in tourism in the kingdom, to organize and promote its development, to work persistently to strengthen to overcome obstacles to its growth as a major contributor to the national economy in a manner consistent with the status of the Kingdom and its fundamental values, and to preserve and maintain national heritage and monuments and enhance their contribution to the cultural and economic development, as well as giving adequate attention to the museums and carrying out sophisticated archaeological work in the kingdom.

I do not see how Saudi Arabia can promote itself as a tourist destination, unless you mean Mecca pilgrimage for muslims who want to do a bit of sightseeing. Saudi Arabia is not open to non-muslims and is hostile to anyone who is not muslim. As for antiquities, where? Saudi Arabia is a desert there is nothing to see. ETN your credibility is on the line here.
