Be Italian: Italian Style in the tourism business is popular all over the world

Nine is the announced success of this film season, the musical on the (fictionalized) life of Federico Fellini. The main song from the film, Be Italian, has already become a sort of soundtrack for Made in Italy. Also in the tourism industry more and more international operators want, metaphorically, to โ€œbe Italianโ€ in the sense that they appreciate the Italian style of creating business opportunities and many non-European operators, in particular from emerging economies, choose Bit as a benchmark marketplace in Europe.

Bit 2010 will provide three focused opportunities for professional international supply and demand to meet up: Bit Buy World, Bit Buyitaly, Bit Buy Club and Bit Itinera.

BIT BUY WORLD: IN ITALY BUYING THE WORLD โ€“ The brand new workshop this year is Bit Buy World, Bitโ€™s answer to the need to conquer new markets on an international scenario that sees new economies, especially Asian ones, growing at between 5 and 10%. Bitโ€™s first foreign to foreign initiative, this new workshop is a chance for reciprocal exchange between supply and demand in global tourism to develop new businesses all over the world, both incoming and outgoing, completed by a busy programme of training and information.

Friday 19 February, in the workshop area in halls 5-7, Bit Buy World will see a total attendance of around 300 international Operators, 200 of whom chosen out of the foreign Exhibitors and Co-exhibitors at Bit with exclusively international products and services, Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Hotel, Congress Centres, Villages and Tourist Boards and 100 foreign Travel Agents. A first edition that focuses on Operators from the Far East: it will involve businesses from both countries showing great vitality, like Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in southwest Asia and also from big advanced markets like Japan or those with confirmed growth like China and India, identified through careful scouting in different stages in collaboration with UFTAA.

BIT BUYITALY: IN ITALY BUYING ITALY โ€“ With over 2,000 Sellers from all the Regions in Italy and more than 540 Buyers from 51 foreign countries, this 25th edition of Buyitaly 2010 establishes itself as the most important workshop in existence of Italy as a product. As part of the Bit trade fair, which offers the most complete representation of Italian Regions and their special local produce, focused direct meetings at Buyitaly will give all Exhibitors and Operators who deal in destinations and services in Italy that โ€˜something extraโ€™ for their business, thanks to careful matching of requests.

At Buyitaly 2010, again in the workshop area in hall 5-7, Operators interested in Italy as a product will meet up over two days, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February. Saturday will specialise in tourism real estate agencies, tour operators and travel agencies offering regional products and services, hotel chains and consortia, regional transport companies, rental companies and spa resorts. Whereas Sunday will be dedicated to hotels, tourist villages, holiday complexes, congress centres, villas and apartments, B&Bs, agritourism companies and historical residences.

BIT BUY CLUB: IN ITALY ENHANCING SEGMENTS โ€“ The fair is rounded out by the Bit Buy Club, the only international workshop dedicated to association supply and demand, an important deseasonalisation factor for a Tourism System always on the lookout for new enhancement opportunities and a growing market: in Italy alone there are at least 80,000 Cral (employeesโ€™ recreational association) and 14 association-style federations, which overall represent more than 3 million people.

Organized by Bit in partnership with Tourist Trend, this third edition of the Bit Buy Club will be held on Friday 19 February in the workshop area in hall 7 and envisages the attendance of 400 national and international sellers, including tour operators, travel agencies and sales consortia and 160 buyers from 11 countries, selected from Cral, themed associations, interested groups, federations and Cral consortia. Those present will include the employeesโ€™ recreational associations from Procter & Gamble, Fondiaria SAI, BMI Roche and AXA Italia. From abroad the employeesโ€™ recreational associations from Peugeot, Carrefour, Leroy Merlin and France Telecom from France, Club 50 from Austria, Bergerdorfer Skiclub from Germania and others from northern Europe.

BIT ITINERA: The Bit appointment with spiritual tourism is back with its formula expanded to include all three big monotheistic religions. More than 300 Operators from all over the world are expected, involved in enhancement of Jewish, Christian and Islamic religious destinations. 80 representatives from national and international users will meet up in a reserved area 220 exponents of the cream of the international religious tourism providers.

The 30th edition of Bit โ€“ International Tourism Exchange will be held at the fieramilano exhibition centre in Rho from Thursday 18 to Sunday, February 21, 2010. For information updates: www.bit.fieramilano.it.
