PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland-based SeaPort Airlines has named its chief operating officer, Rob McKinney, as its new president.

Airline CEO John Beardsley says McKinney, a commercial airline pilot, has experience in aviation and business. He helped land a $6 million federal contract to start the airline's Portland to Memphis, Tenn., route last year.

SeaPort was started in June 2008. It operates 115 daily flights during the weekday in Portland and three other Oregon cities, and Seattle, Memphis and four cities in Arkansas. Its sister airline, Wings of Alaska, has flights to seven cities in that state.
