Hawaii Tourism Association applauds HVCB phone sales campaign

By Linda Hohnholz, eTN | Feb 08, 2010

HONOLULU, HI – The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) announced today that they are launching a telephone sales campaign this week in an effort to bring new meetings business to the island state.

Sales professionals from industry partners on all of Hawaii’s major islands will be collectively selling the state as a world-class business meetings destination. They will be targeting meeting planners and decision-makers in North America, with special emphasis on reaching lucrative business sectors, such as medical, pharmaceutical, banking, business-related services, and supply services.

Over the last year, the Hawaii Tourism Association (HiTA) has been promoting the idea of a phone campaign to the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA), suggesting that they use the telephone and manpower in Hawaii to establish new tourism leads. HiTA has experimented with establishing new markets like Singapore and the US east coast via a telephone campaign with great success.

“We are glad that they are taking our lead and our suggestion and getting this program off the ground,” said HiTA president Juergen Thomas Steinmetz.
HiTA receives potential leads in the convention, business, and leisure travel markets on a daily basis and has established a new generation of lead programs. For more information, call (+1) 808-566-9900 or go to www.hawaiitourismassociation.com .
