Plans for a new tourism attraction at Port Glaud took a first step last week, when a foundation stone was laid for a brand new visitor center to a previously largely-ignored waterfall.

A widened road, extra parking for tour busses and cars, a restaurant and administration building. and a scenic view point will be constructed in the coming months at an estimated cost of over US$1 million.

The new facility, when ready, is expected to draw in large numbers of visitors. Local administration staff and a representative from the Seychelles Tourist Board were present at the occasion, signaling official support for the new project.
