The Rwandan national airline has reaffirmed its desire to continue with the privatization process at some stage in the future, when the value of RwandAir has increased and interest in the acquisition of the shares set aside for a core investor has been rekindled in the aviation market.

The process of privatization was well near halted some time ago, when the erstwhile suitors had either withdrawn their interest or been told they could add no value to the airline’s future with their proposals.

Meanwhile, in spite of the global economic and financial crisis of the past two years, the fortunes of RwandAir have improved, new planes been acquired at the expense of discontinued wet leases, and new routes been added.
