After the successful merger of Austrian airlines with the Lufthansa Group and integration of sales and service network, the two airlines have decided to start a joint call centre for bookings and reservations from January 11.

”Customers will reap substantial benefits from this close collaboration. It makes both carriers even more attractive for Indians travelling abroad,” Axel Hilgers, Lufthansa’s South Asia Director said, while announcing the opening of call centre.

He said one common corporate head office in Gurgaon will centralise all core functions on an all-India basis.

”By combining their strengths and by tapping vast operational synergies, both airlines are seizing new opportunities in the core market that is India,” he said.

Globally, Lufthansa flies to 191 destinations in 78 countries from its two hubs in Frankfurt and Munich and Austrian Airlines flies to 115 destinations in 57 countries from its hub in Vienna.
