The Maia Resort on Anse Louis, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and recently honored for excellence in service, and Qatar Airways – the self-proclaimed, five-star airline – have jointly sponsored a holiday to the Gulf for six orphans who will spend the coming Easter break in Dubai.

The project was initially proposed by the Seychellois First Lady Mrs. Michel who is also the patron of the orphanage, but it could only materialize after the sponsors’ generosity availed the air tickets and accommodation in a sister resort of Maia.

This column hails the spirit of Christmas, which extended to the less fortunate in society and hopes to find more such examples to report in the year 2010 and beyond.
