SEOUL, South Korea - A tourist bus crash in South Korea has killed 10 people and injured 21 others.

Police officer Kim Ki-ho said the bus was carrying 31 people when it veered off a mountainous road and rolled about 20 meters (yards) down a hill in Gyeongju, about 280 kilometers (174 miles) southeast of Seoul, Wednesday evening.

The crash left 10 people dead and the 21 others injured seriously. All those on board were Korean.

Kim said the death toll could rise because most passengers are elderly in their 70s and 80s.

The exact cause is under investigation.
