The Gulf Hotel Bahrain, Bahrain’s oldest and most luxurious hotel, has just opened the island’s first ever fine dining Mexican restaurant. The Gulf Hotel Bahrain officially opened its Margarita Mexicana restaurant with Margarita Tequila Bar on Saturday, October 2, 2009 for lunch and dinner.

With 84 covers, Margarita Mexicana expects to attract business travelers and tourists alike. The five-star hotel’s new restaurant boasts head chef Nathan Slattery, a renowned Mexican Chef from the US, and assistant chef Fernando Reyes who, together with the restaurant manager, are Mexican – meaning that the menu and experience is as authentic as possible. This move is expected to position The Gulf Hotel Bahrain and its restaurants as some of the most sought-after places to stay on the island.

All dishes, including tortillas and guacamole, are freshly prepared on site using the finest ingredients imported directly from Mexico. Signature dishes include guacamole in mollcagete and mixiote de pollo.

The restaurant’s Margarita & Tequila Bar serves the some of the best cocktails in Bahrain, as well as many of Mexico’s finest tequilas with brand names including Jose Cuervo Reserva, Patron.

Boasting 12 speciality restaurants and bars and cafes, The Gulf Hotel Bahrain is internationally acclaimed as serving some of the best cuisine on this increasingly-desirable island. Aside from authentic Mexican food, guests can choose from top quality Japanese, Italian, Lebanese, Iranian, Chinese, and Thai cuisine among others. A new wine bar called Vintage is also set to open at the hotel in the next few weeks.
