In celebration of World Tourism Day, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), will be participating in the event initiated by the United Nations’ World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on September 27 entitled “Celebrating Diversity.”

Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, president of SCTA, pointed out that the government considers the tourism sector as an integrated economic and development project that transcends mere events or festivals, noting the cabinet approval on a number of decisions regarding the continuation of the state in support of the SCTA and also the national tourism sector, establishing a system of guidelines that emphasize the state’s interest, including the development of national tourism that keeps pace with the growth and increasing demand.

He underlined the importance of the current phase of SCTA after the issuance of the new regulations last year, which added new and more responsibilities and executive functions on antiquities and museums, tourism and investment, tourist accommodation, tour operators, travel agencies, tourist guides, and other various tourist activities.
