Mr. Geoff Grogan, one of travel industry's veterans and someone who was extremely well known amongst hoteliers all over Thailand and Asia, has passed away. Geoff was found in his home in Saigon yesterday morning. At this time, the cause of death is not known.

For the past 18 months, Geoff had been working in Saigon for Active Asia, a small inbound operator in Vietnam, mostly handling clients from New Zealand. Prior to that he had worked for 5 years for the largest tour operator out of New Zealand, House of Travel, where he was contracts manager and product manager for Asia. Before that he had worked in wholesale in Sydney.

Before getting into travel wholesaling, Geoff had worked in the hospitality industry with extensive experience in hotel operations, specializing in food and beverage, sales and marketing, and conferencing and incentives in hotels across Australia including Novotel Opal Cove Resort – Coffs Harbour, University Park Hotel & Ocean Blue Resort – Gold Coast, Cable Beach Club International - Broome, Northbeach International Hotel – Wollongong, and Rydges Hotels & Resorts National Sales office in Sydney.

Paul Safe, his employer at Active Asia said in an email, “He was a valuable and valued friend and team member and had many close friends in Australia, New Zealand, and now in Vietnam. He will be sadly missed.”
