Soccer Star Joins California's Tourism Campaign

Bend it like Beckham - for California tourism

David Beckham loves living in California so much he's now helping promote the Golden State to tourists.

The soccer star, 34, was on the beach in Santa Monica this week shooting a spot for a new ad campaign for the California Travel & Tourism Commission that will launch next month in the U.S., Canada and Becks' native Great Britain...

"They were filming him kicking soccer balls into the ocean," an eyewitness said of the late Thursday afternoon shoot.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly asked Beckham to take part in the tourism campaign, which also features Rob Lowe, Vanessa Williams, and Dog Whisperer star Cesar Millan.

The television spots will premiere on Sept. 21.
