In a communication dated today, August 27, the Regional Labor Commission (Central) stated that the newly-constituted National Aviators Guild (NAG) of Jet Airways is under legal obligation not to proceed on strike when the conciliation proceedings are in process under Sections 21(1) and 22(2) of the Industrial Disputes Act of 1947.

The letter emphasizes that since Jet Airways is a public itility service, any contravention of the act would attract legal action.
