NYC joins forces with American Airlines to bump up tourism

Aug 19, 2009

NEW YORK, NY - New York City tourism officials are hoping to lure some extra visitors this fall. They've launched a new campaign targeted at residents of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas and Miami.

As part of the campaign, NYC and Company is partnering with American Airlines, which will offer special round trip fares from those cities between $138 and $218. It's the first time the city's tourism office has partnered with a domestic airline.

Tourism in the city has dropped five percent this year, compared to last year.
