California hosts “Beyond The Gateways” this fall

The California Travel Industry Association (CalTIA) will be hosting the “Beyond the Gateways” Conference, October 26-28, 2009 at Northwoods Resort in Big Bear Lake, California.

The California Travel Industry Association (CalTIA) will be hosting the “Beyond the Gateways” Conference, October 26-28, 2009 at Northwoods Resort in Big Bear Lake, California. California travel professionals seeking to overcome current industry challenges and achieve new success are encouraged to attend.

“Attendance to this conference is critical for anyone in the travel industry looking to gain an edge in today’s economy at California-based convention and visitors bureaus, chambers of commerce, hotels, parks, and attractions,” said Gary Sherwin, chairman of the 2009-2010 CalTIA board of directors. “Through a combination of keynote speakers, breakout sessions, best practice studies, and networking opportunities, the educational benefits for decision-makers in today’s volatile travel industry will be exceptional.”

Highlights of the conference will include interactive sessions with Jim Gilmore, author of “The Experience Economy” and co-author of “Authenticity: What Consumers Really Want.” There will also be a two day Social Media Workshop, educational sessions, a business exchange with industry suppliers, and networking opportunities.
