Nude airline to take-off in Germany
Now a German travel agency has unveiled what is believed to be the world's first nude airline
It is fairly well known that a lot of Germans like getting their kit off, now there is an airline for them.
An Eastern German travel agency is taking bookings for the country's first nudist air service.
Passengers can strip off on board but will have to get dressed again before getting off the plane.
The flight is to be part of a summer day trip which flies from the Eastern German city of Erfurt to a popular Baltic Sea resort.

Excellent way to stop terrorists from hiding weapons and bombs under their clothes. It would have to be the safest flight to be on. Even if passengers came through quarentine and customs area naked , it would save all the trouble of a strip search. This wonderful idea will undoubtedly be discussed at the next meeting of the airport security chiefs. I will not be surprised if some enterprising person sees a market for flights direct into an all naked holiday island. We do live in an ever changing world.

we are born naked and you will die naked,nakedness is our natural state of being and certainly not a thing to be ashamed of,shame and intolerance are learned thing taught to people, these are not natural states of thought nor are they in any way positive,religious doggmas have alot to answer for here!!!what possible concern is it of anyones whether people want to fly naked or do anything else naked for that matter,this is not an issue for a thinking logical and rational individual who can see the world for what it truly is,a beautiful place born of love(not sin)that doesnt need saving or rescuing,it just needs more love and understanding!!wakey wakey,do you ever think sometimes that these religious folk who seem to be constantly spouting off fear and disgust about the perversion of the other people that live in the world are possibly juust scared of there own inner thoughts and feelings,so stifled and repressed by the negative teachings of there own narrow minded,intolerant faith that they quite possibly had force fed to them as children before they had there own mind to discern these oppressive ideas for themselves........food for though i think!!

Ummm....just because people are nudists does not mean they are sex maniacs first of all. Second....who cares. If it doesn't hurt anyone why should we have the right to tell them no. And as other people stated...if you don't like the idea don't book the flight. And even though they are promoting this one flight, this is a large cry from become a popular form of travel...so why get so distraught....it's not a big deal.
What's funny about all the shocked reactions is, despite the story's claims, this is not the first nude airline service. Check out the website for naked-air. That would be a .com, by the way. If you google "nude airline" today, naked-air is the second search result, unless there is censorship on your computer censoring your google....
Note: nudity is seen on naked-air's site, so if you are offended by it, don't go there. Another personal choice to make, people. Nobody's forcing you to visit the site.

I personally like this idea of Nude flight. I Love to take this flight and get undressed as soon as I processed to aircraft. I also can compare me with others. What about the cabin crew??? We prefer them too nude....

It's an airline flight and has NOTHING to do with same sex marriage nor child sex abuse (which 99% of that is committed by STRAIGHT people and CATHOLIC PRIESTS). If you don't like it, DON'T USE IT. Are you seriously that friggin stupid? I personally think it's a stupid idea and as such I personally will not be using their service. But they have the right to have any type of service they chose, as long as no one is being hurt. And no one is being hurt. So grow up and stop crying.
And hey, at least you don't have to worry about terrorists smugglings bombs in their shoes. :P
It's a Specialty flight. What'e the difference between this and say a Nudist Cruise? or a Nudist Resort? If its not your style, then DON'T BOOK THE FLIGHT. You all need to get off your High horses and focus on other things.

I really dont mean to condone such airline/idea but 2 things
1. You guys have no idea, how desperate travel agency community is to make better living after all the commission cuts and excruciating mal practices of airlines towards travel agents, and most of you support that by not going through a travel agency and when you go to an airline, they own you and exploit you with no recourse.
2. There are several other places where nudity is accepted, like in palm springs and many more places, how about Hooter Airlines. movies, music, tv's ...indecency should be stopped everywhere.
Of course I don't agree with this new tourist product. But knowing how European governments are handling now marriages between adults of the same sex, and alloowing them to adopt children, besides looking sideways to the growing number of child sexual abuse and abductions, I have a feeling no Euro politician will have the courage to prohibit nude flights.
I'll sign all reliable petitions against this shameful business. But if we lose, at least I want to make sure that an official guarantee is issued by the Europen Commission (applicable to every one of the 27 Member States) proving that every chartered aircraft hold a certificate of thorough desinfection after such flights, displayed at the check-in counter of subsequent airports. Carrying a load of sex maniacs at large on any flight is an attempt against public health. This would be an easy way for consummers to descriminate airlines entering this dirty trade. Agreed, the normal cleaning done on aircraft when they turn around is not going to be suitable enough, however if your not a fan of nudity, then don't fly with them, this is an obvious gimmick, but if they can entice enough customers, then good for them. We can not live in a free society and restrict those whose ideals do not match our own.

Nudism is a century old movement in Germany. They are just a club of nudists who have chartered a one day flight to the Island of Usedom in the Baltic Sea. The crew will be properly dressed, and passengers have to board/disembark fully clothed. Even the (leather) seats will be covered.

Personally I could imagine more comfortable ways of travelling. I would not be keen to undress/dress amongst 49 other passengers in the narrow aisle of a Saab 2000 Turboprop. But if they want it that way, let them have it.
It is not important enough to call for the law, IATA or any one else.
Be assured, the idea might be there, however the law will have a word or two with such a flight...just think about the situation of emergency...believe me should this ever become reality I am taking my hat and leave the business...
Nude flights are a "natural" for the travel industry. Nudist travel is a huge, money-making business. There are high-end (as it were) and expensive nude resorts. There are many nude ships, such as windjammers. There is an entire, county-supported and legal nude beach in Florida, called Haulover Beach, that brings lots of dollars into the local economy. My only objection is aesthetic; really, all too many nude bodies of tourists are not all that attractive, and to be stuck with them in a close airplane for a few hours would not necessarily be a pleasant experience, unless there were an upper age limit of 17. Well, maybe 21.

It's not like their are not a multitude of other airlines/options for those that want to fly fully clothed.
I won't be flying naked... but could careless if others want to. Then again I wouldn't book a vacation at a nudist colony but many do and that's their thing.
People need to take a chill pill and relax.

To Abdul: FYI there are already all gay and all lesbian cruises run by some of the major cruise lines. Guess what-- it's been proven to be the most lucrative cruise venture ever. The upper class cabins sell out within 3-4 days of announcement!
To the rest of you who ask "what is the reason?" To create a niche market, and not discriminate against any one segment of the market. If you don't want any part of it, fine--that's your right, but why bash it? I guarantee if you saw the bottom line (no pun intended!) you'd be cashing in on it's sales as well. Come on, who are we kidding, we are ALL here for only one reason... to make money! Don't hate because someone has discovered a new niche.. the nudist community is growing more and more every year.. after all it is how we entered into this world.
Ethics? it is not unethical to sell nude seats on a nude airline, it would be unethical to discriminate against a segment of our clients (I bet we all have atleast one nudist amongst our clients, we just don't know about it!) and there aren't any rules that IATA can enforce under any "ethical" guidelines written anywhere. This is uncharted territory.
So come on guys.. let's grow up, and live n let live. After all it's 2008, and I feel we have much bigger issues to deal with in today's world!

I read some of the comments. I am not sure what all the fuss is about. If you chose not to fly nude, then don't book with this airline.
I think the agency found a nich. If they have clients that they can attract. More power to them.
Stero typing is not attractive and we need to be careful what we say, to things that we know nothing about.
Shame on those who make this wholesome activity into a crime.
Let's look at the bright side, I guess we would not need to worry about concealed weapons on board.

Come one, it's not such a terrible thing, if there's enough people wanting it, why not? And don't say it's indecent, it's not... not more than any other nude resort or facility, which I don't think they are.
there are crimes on the flight already not a lesser problem to solve i dont know what this would bring,secondly is there any internatioal pen like human rights and WHO ect that will/can draw lines for advisable and prohibited ways to make money.this one is so shamefull whats next homo and lesbian flights then shit eaters will also ask their part.is any way that makes money is a good idea??
