5 million visitors expected at Jeddah Ghair Festival

Executive director of the Makkah PTO, Mohammed Al-Amiri, expected that the number of visitors for the “Jeddah Ghair” Festival this year will exceed past years’ figures. He attributed this to two key factors: the summer vacation and Ramadan month in which the number of visitors had reached more than 5 million last year.

Also he expects more from an increasing demand by young people during the festival, in the light of directives of the Emir of Makkah the holy city, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and President of SCTA, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman, on the allocation of special programs for Saudi youth.

He said: “MAS reports have played an important role through recommendations to give the necessary attention to the Saudi youth during the summer festivals this year. And by that we have 40 sports courts and a large yard for a number of occasions by young people themselves, as well as recreational activities to meet the needs of all members of the family within the shopping and entertainment centers.” He added that this year will witness the largest fireworks festival in Abhar, as well as weekly performances.
