A London Tube-style map has been created detailing major tourist attractions in Somerset.

More than 100 museums, stately homes, castles, gardens, archaeological sites and railways feature on seven lines.

People can download an itinerary for each line, as well as addresses and phone numbers, for each attraction, on the Visit Somerset website.

The Battle Line, which is the longest at 85 miles, takes in the Somerset Levels, Mendips and Polden Hills.

Natalie Watson, of the Somerset Heritage Service, said: “For a county with a history as rich and diverse as its countryside, Somerset boasts an amazing number of museums and heritage attractions.

“The map and guide celebrate the fascinating, quirky, important and often breathtaking heritage locations in the county.”
