Whether it’s an event, product launch, conference, incentive program, marketing campaign, or sustainable initiative, now is the time for the meetings industry to showcase their achievements by entering the prestigious EIBTM 2009 Meeting and Incentive Industry Awards.

The awards, open to all event creators and planners, recognizes creativity, imagination, innovation, and excellence across all types of events and marketing campaigns.

The EIBTM 2009 Awards are divided into seven categories with one new category – Sustainable Initiative of the Year – and one re-introduced – Best Destination Marketing Campaign.

· Best Special Event

· Best Conference for less than 250 participants

· Best Conference for more than 250 participants

· Best Product Launch

· Best Incentive Program

· Sustainable Initiative of the Year

· Best Destination Marketing Campaign

Additionally, two special awards will be presented – Industry Personality of the Year (closed judging and selection process) won last year by Christian Mutschelechner, director of the Vienna Convention Bureau, and Best Event Evaluation to be judged by Elling Hamso, ROI Institute, won last year by Spain’s Innevento Comunicación en Vivo.

Chair of the judging panel Jeremy Garbett commented: “EITBM is the industry’s premier international business meetings event, so there is no better showcase for excellence to be acknowledged and rewarded. Whether a small or large project, I encourage all within the live events industry to enter the awards.”

Mandy Torrens, EIBTM’s exhibition director, highlighted the introduction of a sustainable initiative of the year award: “EIBTM has been a major driver in raising the profile of sustainability within the industry through its BS8901 accreditation. This new award reflects the number of sustainable initiative campaigns undertaken over the past twelve months.”

The 2009 awards will be announced and presented at a VIP ceremony taking place at EIBTM on December 3.
