On the weekend of July 18-19, 2009 approximately 80,000 people will attend one of the largest Filipino festivals, but it won't take place in the Philippines. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Philippines Barrio Fiesta, the biggest and most widely-attended Filipino festival/event in Europe and will be held in Lampton Park, Hounslow in the UK on July 18-19, 2009.

As in previous years, the event will bring the colors, sights, and sounds of the beautiful and exciting Philippines to the United Kingdom. Attendees can look forward to a mouth-watering array of native cuisine together with a well-stocked dry-goods selection. The fiesta also serves as a one-stop-shop for numerous services from travel deals, banking, and real estate. Also on show are the music and entertainment provided by Philippine celebrities and friends, promising a wholesome family experience.

The Embassy of the Philippines and the Department of Tourism London Field Office will be in attendance during the 25th Philippines Barrio Fiesta. This event will provide guests with the opportunity to learn more about the Philippines, its people, its culture, and lifestyle.

For more information on the event, contact the Philippine Centre at 020 7096 1246 or visit www.philippinecentre.com.

My husband, my kids and I were on the filipino festival on 19 July 2009 and I was happy to see lots of filipino friends. My son enjoyed the rides, games and the filipino food he miss when we were in the Philippines. I was just surprised that there was no control on what the shops can sell. I bought some noodles (Quickchow and Payless) and I just noticed when we got home that Quickchow is already expired. I know there is a law here in England that somebody that sell goods after the expiration date will be penalised.
