Solomon Airlines moves forward in Australia

By Charles Kereau | Jul 01, 2009

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (eTN) - Solomon Airlines has announced it will be opening its own fully dedicated Australian reservation and sales office at Brisbane International Airport next week.

The airline has said that with the opening of the new office, it is also welcoming two new staff members to its current Australian team.

The two new staff members are Janine Watson, who joins the office as reservations and sales supervisor, and Yolande Barton as reservations and sales consultant.

Solomon Airlines added that Janine Watson has extensive experience working previously with Qantas, Malaysian Airlines and Singapore Airlines, while Yolande Barton was previously employed with Consolidated Travel in Brisbane.

The new appointments will take effect as the airline opens its new sales office in Brisbane next Monday.

Meanwhile, spokesman for the national carrier indicated that the future of Solomon Airlines moving forward in the Australian market is no longer a matter of representation by other service providers, but rather by controlling and developing its road map to a more sustainable and development role in the main source market base in Australia.
