eTN Inbox: Trinidad and Tobago: An unusual mix of crime and tourism

Jun 30, 2009

Thank you for the article. We here in Trinidad and Tobago live in fear that cannot be explained in words. Furthermore, we have a government so engrossed in corruption and incompetence that we feel utterly helpless and abused. When you hear the government speak, you would think we are heaven. Hence it is appreciated when the international community sees and writes about the real Trinidad and Tobago, perchance it will motivate the government to act responsibly. I also hope these articles would wake up our sub-standard tourism officials and executives. It is no wonder Trinidad and Tobago is pretty much at the bottom of Caribbean tourism.

Finally, the 270,000 visitors referred to in your article are pretty much Diaspora. I wish we had a fraction of that in real tourist arrivals.

Regards,

Pierre Small
